COMING Q2 2021
Story

You've waited long enough... and here it is! Perhaps Bob 1's most famous guitar is the one-off custom made Ibanez that was originally supposed to look like a potato but came out looking more like a cloud. It can be seen in the Devo – Live 1980 DVD (and on the cover) as well as the “Girl U Want” video from 1980. He sold the guitar in the mid-80s, then set out to find it again years later. After over a decade of fruitlessly searching, it was finally found in the possession of pro skateboarder Jason Jessee who reunited Bob with the guitar.

Now, I know we'd all like an exact replica, but there are some things that Ibanez did at the time that will be impractical to include in our tribute version - namely the embedded overdrive - you can use your pedals for that. We did, however, include the cool active treble boost circuit (WarpDrive) and we've replicated the tapped humbuckers for 3-way switching of Humbucker, Single Coil or Out of Phase.

QUESTIONS & COMMENTS

Add a Question/Comment
  • The Warp-Drive - is it possible to adjust the amount of boost?

To a degree, yes. The gain setting on the Transwarp™  can be adjusted inside the guitar using the small trim pot located on the unit using a small screwdriver to set your desired amount.

  • hi can this be made with diff pickup configuration ,all my guitars seem to have humbuckers thanks rick

We could install a set of our Vintage Vioce Single Coils if you were to purchase these, just note that we only have them available in the chrome finish at this time.
