Following up on the success of the MRG Octave Mando (one of the best-selling offerings from the MRG Studio Series) comes this new, solid body version of the 8-string instrument.
The Model S Octave Mando is every bit as familiar to a mandolin player, but grants access to the lower range of a tenor guitar. Our Octave Mandos are strung up with octave pairs, granting a rich and full sound not achievable with pairs tuned in unison. To put it into perspective, you could say that the 12-string guitar is to the 6 string, as the Octave Mando is to a 4-string tenor guitar.
Featuring three individual single coil pickups, it's also got a solid alder body, a bolt-on maple neck, and a fully-adjustable S-style bridge. But the Model S Octave Mando as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts, allowing you to create complex rich tones that will add the perfect edge to your next creative project.
