Why...WHY are almost every one of your basses short scale??? I would buy this Magnum bass in a heartbeat if it had a 34" scale!
Thanks for reaching out, and for your interest in the Magnum! This one has actually got a 34" scale.
Hello, will the neck have a similar fat profile, like the original?
It will be similar, yes. The projection is for the neck to feature a modern "C" profile, with a thickness of ~24mm at the first fret and ~25mm at the twelfth.
What is the body wood?
The body wood will be Mahogany.
How close will the electronics be to the original?
As far as function is concerned, we're including all of the features that would have been present on the Magnum Bass I: a three-way pickup selector, individual volume and tone per pickup, and stereo/mono out. As for the pickups, we are using a custom humbucker in the neck position and a custom single coil at the bridge. This is a slight deviation from the original's 4-coil humbucker at the neck and 2-coil humbucker at the bridge. Through the inclusion of the single coil here you'll gain a little more treble access and mid-range punch, and you certainly won't be missing any articulation or low end thump from its more standard-sized humbucker. If for whatever reason you need to swap it out, it won't be impossible to find a suitable replacement, either!
Hard case included?
Unfortunately no, we no longer make hard cases for the large majority of our instruments.
The Magnum Bass will fit well into our Premium Soft Casee - Bass Standard, which is available as an extra purchase.
Will the pickup frame still be made of metal?
No, the frame on our Magnum Bass will be made of plastic.
Is this what the bass will look like? https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2020/06/24/eastwood-guitars-announces-magnum-bass/
We actually made a run of Magnum Basses back in 2012, and it's one of those that is shown on your link.
This new release will improve upon our previous one with an upgraded bridge, pickup frame (not aluminum), and mono/stereo output. The best indicator for the design can be seen in the CAD drawing on this page.
Is there a prototype? I would love to see and hear it.
We haven't done a prototype for this one, sorry!
