The original "Stratotone" guitar of the '1950s may have been unassuming by stature, but anyone who's played one knows not to judge a book by its cover. Those guitars are absolute tone monsters! Featuring a short body and a FAT neck, these guitars made for some of the best blues/slide guitars - a statement that rings true to this day.
With this release, we wanted to pay tribute not only to these fantastic guitars, but also to the "King of the Slide Guitar" himself, Elmore James.
The new Elmore 54 guitar draws inspiration from the original model 1361 famously played by Elmore James, and marries it with modernized aesthetic and spec. The FAT neck, rhythm/solo switch, and raw tone are all here, but with a re-positioned mini-humbucker, custom pickguard shape and classy Vintage Cream finish. You'll buy it to play slide, but end up using it for everything!
